Product of the Week - Dimitri Leather Patterned Saddle Bag

Date: 31-Jan-2015 - Written by Debbie Davies

Last week we introduced the topic of the Seventies SS15 trend and we said we were going to continue with it for another week.

The Dimitri Leather Ladies Leather Cross Body Bag - FLOWER CIRCLE - £53.00

Therefore this week we shall introduce you to the Saddle Bag. Our product of the week is our fabulous Dimitri Leather Self Patterned Saddle Bag.

Now in true form, we refer to our Saddle bag as indeed this is a well known, iconic bag shape that lived through the 1970s era. You can identify a Saddle bag by a few key tell tale signs. Firstly the soft, horseshoe base. Secondly the elegant buckle strap. Thirdly the sturdy, adjustable long strap, often worn across the torso, hence why this shape is also referred to as a Cross Body Bag.

The Saddle bag is seen across the catwalk and is already represented within key retailers.

From L-R, we have the canvas coated Saddle by Liberty, Michael Kors follows this is a gorgeous orange tan, then there is the Chloe wristlet Saddle, and finally the Chloe Marcie Saddle shoulder bag.

Our Dimitri Saddle Bag is a cut above the rest I am afraid. Well, we do offer plain versions here  see-Dimitri Leather Ladies Dark Brown Shaped Leather Shoulder - Crossbody Bag or the Dimitri Leather Ladies Shaped Leather Crossbody Bag but I wanted to highlight our very special embossed version. As you can see, the main design feature is the delicate embossed floral design featuring three flowers. The leather is made from calf skin therefore strong and sturdy but shall soften with age. With an adjustable buckled strap and a nice deep base this bag shall take you from day to early evening, throughout the summer and into AW15 transitional. And with a generous 15x12x7.5 cm (yes 7.5!) depth this can fit keys, phone, money and maybe a couple of other personal belongings that you may need.

The wallet that's worth more than the money in it

Money comes and goes, but wallets are forever (or at least a lot longer than the twenty you just took out of the hole in the wall). Like most wise financial decisions, the purchase of a wallet should be a long-term investment, so here's what to look out for.

How to care for your leather items

Whether it's your wallet, belt or bag, proper care will prolong the life of your leather. The natural fibers will eventually break down with time, so some maintenance is necessary.

Time To Choose A Hat

Not just any ordinary hat, but practical, lightweight, stylish headgear.
