After the success of their first studio album Kamakaze Showdown, Lostcords are back with a brand new single Climbing Trees.

Lostcords are an up-and-coming rock band from Horton, consisting of Ben Smith on drums, Lee Townend on rhythm guitar, Adam Verity on lead guitar and Reuben Collis on bass and lead vocals.

The band started out four years ago with Adam and Lee jamming together at Lee’s grandma’s house while she was out at bingo but what began as two pals having a laugh together has now become a serious venture for the Horton lads. After Ben joined on drums, the trio actively sought a bassist and singer to complete the band and recorded their first album at Langley studios.

Despite this the lads still don’t take themselves seriously and love nothing more than playing to a live crowd. Lead singer Reuben says: “There were no real intentions of it being a serious band, it was just an idea. We started practicing in Adam’s garage twice a week and three years later were on the verge of something really special.”

Reuben adds: “Our aim for the future is to get recognition in the industry so that we can tour. We believe we have the songs, it’s just getting them out there.”

The four-piece band play a mixture of rock and pop music and cite Dave Grohl, Eddie Vedder, Kurt Cobain, Nikki Sixx and Slash amongst their influences. The lads are also big fans of Motown.

On their music, the band said: "We like to think we are original but there is always an element of our inspirations in our sounds, which I guess can’t be helped."

The band regularly play at gigs in and around the Reading area and will be performing at the Battle of the Bands in High Wycombe on the 2nd of January and at the Zenith bar in Islington on the 14th.
